I'm so excited to share that on November 2, I'll present a session at the 65th annual conference of the American Translators Association in Portland, Oregon. My talk is titled "Translating Voices, Transcending Screens: Commonalities between Subtitling and Interpreting."
Presentation description
While distinct as modes of work, subtitle translation and interpreting have more in common than you might think. Explore these shared threads and discover how expertise in one domain enhances proficiency in the other with the speaker’s own experience serving as an example. Delving into the comparable skills, techniques, and approaches in the two realms, this session is designed to benefit interpreter colleagues curious about audiovisual translation and vice versa.
